2 important pieces of information for your Umrah luggage
The very first piece of information to be taken into account is the weight authorised by the company air. Above all, do not exceed this weight, so as not to have to pay for excess weight that was not anticipated;
Secondly, you'll be buying a lot of gifts on the spot, so keep it to a minimum your business.
Let's get down to business!
Clothes for the brother :
- 2 or 3 Qamis : 1 white Qamis, classy, to be worn for Joumoua in particular. 1 or 2 Qamis to be worn during the day or evening. You may want to consider a light, or even short-sleeved, qamis for the day and one for the evening. qamis slightly thicker, long sleeves for evening and night use (sometimes very cold)
- An IHRAM if the omra programme begins with Mekkah (it will have to be put on either in transit or on the plane before the meequat)
- 2 sarouels or sous-qamis : They'll be useful for putting on under your qamis or when you take your qamis off to get comfortable.
- 3 or 4 cotton T-shirts: Bear in mind that you'll be sweating a lot during the day. You may even change clothes several times a day.
- 1 or 2 chachia.
- 1 pair of sandals and a pair of hiking or sports shoes
- 2 or 3 pairs of socks: Handy for tawaf. Because walking barefoot tends to damage our feet;
Clothes for the sister :
- 2 or 3 jilbab or dark-coloured abaya
- 5 or 6 pairs of cotton underwear
- 2 pairs of lightweight trousers or leggings
- 3 or 4 cotton T-shirts
- A pair of light running shoes or hiking boots
- 1 or 2 waistcoats : As mentioned above, it can be quite cool in the evening
- 1 niqab or 1 sitar for sisters who adopt this opinion
Toiletry bag
Toiletry bag with the bare minimum of products. A few tips and tricks: to avoid any doubts, choose fragrance-free products, and opt for small containers in which you will only put the quantity you need for the duration of your trip.
From the vaseline for men to avoid rubbing the thighs during ihram (when men wear the ihram garment, underwear is prohibited).
Your omra luggage
- Hand wash detergent to wash your clothes as you go,

- Gourd,
- Cereal barsdried fruit and cakes for your little hunger pangs,
- Unlocked phone so that you can contact your mahram if you are not in the same room,
- Medicines in case of stomach ache (SMECTA), headache or sore throat,
- Sun cream on a very sunny day,
- Handkerchiefs: We can always use them,
- A pair of scissors for the sister to cut off the tips of their hair for desecration.
- An adapter Electric sockets in Saudi Arabia are triple, not double as in France,
- A small rucksack especially for shoes (sandals) when going to the mosque;
Religious supports
- A small or medium-sized Koran so you can keep it with you all the time,
- A book of invocations the citadel type of Muslim,
- A book about the rites of the hajj and omra.
