In fact, this source gushed forth in Mecca, at the time when the wife of the Prophet Ibrahim (peace and greetings be upon him) was alone with her newborn baby, Ismail. She was in a critical situation, lacking food and water to breastfeed her child.

This holy water has been the subject of numerous analyses. All of which have concluded that its purity is unequalled. So it's a liquid that contains no trace of germs or bacteria!
The benefits for our bodies
La source of Zamzam contains unequalled levels of minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. It could therefore be useful for our metabolism, as well as for combating fatigue.
What's more, it's highly beneficial for our bone health and our teeth!
- It is useful for invocations
It is very common for this water to be used in the invocation to ensure that it is answered. As this hadith shows :
According to 'Abdallah Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), the Prophet ('alayhi salat wa salam) said: "The thing for which zamzam water is drunk is granted". (Reported by Daraqoutni in his Sunnah n°2739 and authenticated by Sheikh Albani in Sahih Targhib Wa Tarhib n°1164.
We would nevertheless like to remind you that healing comes only from Allah, and that this water is only a cause.
- This water is satiating!
And it's certainly not the pilgrims who will say otherwise! Indeed, it's an energy-boosting, tummy-satisfying drink...
In the sahih of Al Bukhari and Muslim, it is reported that the Prophet ('alayhi salat wa salam) said to Abi Dhar when he stayed for forty days and forty nights between the Ka'ba and its limits, with no food other than the water of Zamzam: "It is a whole food".
Which ties in with the previous point, and the fact that it can be drunk with the intention of quenching our thirst. Or to satiate us.
