The day of 'Arafat is known as the 9th day of the month of Dhul Hijjathe same month as the Hajj. The invocations to Arafat are known to be of great importance for any Muslim hoping for forgiveness from his Lord.

This day was named after the parking lot used by pilgrims during the hajj in Arafat, a place close to the Mecca.
We also know that the day of Arafat is a very special day because Allah has mentioned it twice in the Qu'ran. But He also swore by it. A sign that shows its great importance, according to the explanations of Sheikh Ibn Al Qayyim Al Djawziyya.

According to Yazid Ibn Jabir, 'Ata Ibn Abi Rabah (d. 114 AH) said: "Fasting on the day of 'arafat is equivalent to fasting for a thousand days".

Allah frees people from the fire among those who are stationed in 'Arafat as well as among those who are not stationed there among the Muslims of the regions. That is why the day that follows it is a day of celebration for all Muslims". Ibn Rajab, Lataif Al Ma'arif (482)

According to 'Aicha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet (may the prayers of Allah and His salvation be upon him) said: "There is no day on which Allah frees more of His servants from fire than on the day of 'Arafat". (Reported by Mouslim in his Sahih n°1348)

In fact, there is a Dou'a known and taught to us by our beloved prophet ('alayhi salat wa salam), which is:
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ الله وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَه لَهُ المُلْكُ وَلهُ الحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَدِير
Which means:
"It'There is no divinity other than'Allah, to Him belongs royalty and to Him belong the praises. And it'It is He who is capable of everything. Hadith reported by the'imam Thirmidi and the'imam Al Bayhaqi and declared authentic by Sheikh Al-Albani.
